CVE Program Expands Partnership with Red Hat

Pretty neat new coming from the CVE® Program and Red Hat!

The CVE® Program is expanding its partnership with Red Hat, Inc. for managing the assignment of CVE Identifiers (CVE IDs) for the CVE Program for open source.

Red Hat is now designated as a Root for any open-source organizations that choose Red Hat as their Root.

Data broker sued for allegedly selling individuals’ sensitive location data

The Federal Trade Commission has sued data broker Kochava for allegedly selling information that would allow for individuals’ whereabouts to be traced to sensitive locations. The information included location data from hundreds of millions of phones, including sensitive locations that could be tied to an individual.

And, while the name Kochava may not ring any bells, it actually has a sizeable footprint in the data collection industry. In its own words, Kochava is the industry leader for mobile app attribution and mobile app analytics, and its platform provides a comprehensive set of measurement and targeting tools for app marketers.
